The Chef Series is a passion project of mine where I collaborate with a local chef on a design that reflects who they are. I met Chef Victor in 2023 and fell in love with Local Tide the second I walked through the door. Intention, creativity and honesty were packed into every square inch of the restaurant. I was lucky enough to make Victor a few knives over the years and he supported me as I came into my own as a maker. We found common ground in limiting the footprints of our businesses, making an honest and quality product without leaving heaps of trash in our wakes. He asked me to make him a nakiri but he had a vision. An understated performer that could fly under the radar. Upon finishing his knife I knew this would be my next chef series. It perfectly incapsulated who Victor is. Modern, refined, simple, the function dictated the form. Locally sourced handle material charred in a traditional Japanese technique. Thin geometry at the spine and behind the edge. Forward weighted to do some of the work for you while still having total control. High performance carbon steel that will patina and change depending on how you cook and what your diet consists of. A knife made in a little shop on the Duwamish river with a craftsman that stands behind servicing his products for life. We are proud to present to you:
